Privacy Policy
Effective 29 September 2026
Cruxle is a daily word-block puzzle game for iPhone, iPad and Android. This policy explains what information the game collects, why, who else handles it, and the choices you have. In short: we collect only what the game needs to work, we don't show ads, we don't track you across other apps or websites, and we never sell your information.
Who we are
Cruxle is made by Gurpinderjeet Singh ("we", "us"), based in Australia. You can reach us at support@cruxle.app.
What we collect
When you play without an account
- A random device identifier. On first launch the app creates a random code and keeps it in your device's secure storage. It is not linked to your name, phone number or advertising ID. It lets us keep your progress on our servers.
- Game progress. Which puzzles you've opened and solved, your solve times, stars earned and spent, missions, cosmetic items, ranked weekend entries and results, and your in-game settings.
When you create an account (optional)
- Sign-in details. Your email address, and your name if your sign-in provider (such as Sign in with Apple) shares it. These are held by our sign-in provider, Clerk, and are not copied into the game's database.
- A username. The app creates one for you, and you can change it. Your username is public: other players see it on ranked leaderboards.
- Your game progress is then linked to your account, so you can restore it on another device.
Purchases
If you buy Cruxle Pro, the payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google. We never see your card or bank details. We and our purchases provider, RevenueCat, receive what's needed to confirm and restore your purchase: an anonymous purchaser ID, the product, and the transaction details from the store.
What we don't collect
- No advertising, and no advertising or tracking identifiers.
- No location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera access.
- No analytics or behavioural tracking beyond the game progress above.
How we use it
- To run the game: save and sync your progress, verify solve times, award stars, and run ranked weekends and their leaderboards.
- To let you sign in, back up your progress and restore it on another device.
- To confirm and restore purchases.
- To keep the game fair and safe, for example by stopping offensive usernames and detecting cheating.
Notifications
If you turn on daily reminders, they are scheduled on your device. We don't collect a push-notification token.
Sharing your results
When you tap Share, the app draws your day's results as an image on your device and hands it to your phone's share sheet. It goes only where you choose to send it.
Who else handles your information
We use a small number of service providers, each only for the purpose listed:
- Convex — stores game data (servers in the United States).
- Clerk — accounts and sign-in.
- RevenueCat — confirming and restoring purchases.
- Apple and Google — app distribution and payments, under their own privacy policies.
We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't share it with advertisers. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Where your information is stored
Our service providers store data in the United States. By using Cruxle you understand your information will be processed there, with the protections described in this policy.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while you use Cruxle. If you delete your account, we delete it and the game data linked to it. Progress kept under a device identifier only is removed on request (see below); uninstalling the app does not by itself delete it from our servers.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account at any time in the app: Settings → Delete account. This removes your account and your game data from our servers.
- Change your username in the app: Profile.
- Turn off reminders in Settings.
- Ask us to access, correct or delete your information, including progress saved without an account, by emailing support@cruxle.app. We'll respond within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as the Australian Privacy Act, the EU and UK GDPR, or Californian privacy law. You can also complain to your local privacy regulator; in Australia, that's the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Children
Cruxle is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
Information travels over encrypted connections, your device identifier is kept in your device's secure storage, and access to our systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top, and we'll tell you in the app if the change is significant.
